Geo-Carpathica is a peer-reviewed on-line journal open-access to high-quality papers from all fields of geography. The journal will release one issue per year. It is a publication produced by Girasol Association. The editors invite submissions of original papers containing theoretical, methodological and empirical studies that approach problems of geography. However, good review papers or high quality theoretical contributions are welcomed as well. The article evaluation is based on the double-blind peer review procedure.
The idea of publishing Geo-Carpathica Journal started in 2000, when the first issue of the scientific journal was published by the Publishing House of “Lucian Blaga” University. The Journal is at present at the 19th issue, with an annual publication. The journal contains all the results of the scientific research at national and international level, in the field of geography, both under theoretical and practical aspect. As it can be seen in the journal content (No.1-19), there are significant studies and scientific communications that approach the quantitative and qualitative evaluations of the environment, the changes in the geographic space, the sustainable development of the rural and urban geographic space, problems of quality and monitoring the environment, use and reconversion of the geographic space destinations and the promotion of the tourism as a primary activity in the sustainable development. Geo-Carpathica Journal is the international messenger of the scientific and research activity.
